November 18, 2019 - Hotel Vivier Call Time arrives in Tokyo!

The new fantasy world where Roger Vivier showcased the Spring-Summer 2020 collection in Paris now opens its doors for the Japanese friends of the Maison and bring an event that is unique to Tokyo. Creative Director Gherardo Felloni invites you to explore the mysteries behind the stage in Hotel Vivier Call Time. “I have always been inspired by theater, musicals, the cabaret,” he shares. “Performance is always present and, this time, I want to show the guests of Hotel Vivier the part that is not shown in every performance, the part that is usually hidden behind-the-scenes.” A mythical hotel where fantasy crosses over to reality, Hotel Vivier Call Time will feature different women in Tokyo, inhabiting different backstage rooms, who are preparing for their performance.

In one room, guests will find Gofukuya Kimono, a tailor shop that Mademoiselle Yulia runs with her friend, textile designer Yuki Matsuda. Here, young actress Kurumi Nakata comes to order a one-of-a-kind kimono for her next movie. The Japanese Kimono as a backdrop to showcase the collection comes naturally to the Maison, reflecting its strong ties to Haute Couture. While Paris presented cabaret showgirls, another room at the Hotel Vivier Call Time in Tokyo will give guests an insider look into the backstage rehearsals of the opera company, with its all-female stars, busy trying on make-up, costumes and singing along with their pianist. In the last room, instead of the young Parisian ballerinas, guests will find traditional Nichibu dancers, rehearsing “Wisteria Maiden,” the famous performance program that features Oriental flowers that always serve as inspiration for Felloni in his designs. Aside from these personalities, Hotel Vivier Call Time will also introduce the newly imagined Café Vivier in Tokyo, a real Parisian café where guests can enjoy an authentic experience that will transport them to the City of Light.
